
How?
Never use slug pellets. Make sure there are gaps under fences and gates to allow hedgehogs to move freely between gardens. A couple of gaps about 13cm x 10cm high will make a big difference. Other things that hedgehogs love are hedges (hence the name), log and leaf piles.

Why?
Hedgehog numbers are declining rapidly. They roam long distances at night in the search for food but our fences and walls will often stop them in their tracks, leaving them struggling to find enough to eat. These gentle creatures are also our best defence against slugs.
